Workshop project - made during OSSA The Great Beauty
With the guidance of Karol Szparkowski
In 2017, I became one of the organizers of OSSA 2017 - the biggest architectural workshop in Poland. Our topic - The Great Beauty was chosen to provoke discussion between people. For further information about the workshops read our publication summarising the whole event: https://issuu.com/ossa2017/docs/181004_publikacja_ossa_issuu_01
In classes, students and teachers rarely speak about beauty. The projects have to be functionally and structurally correct. On the other hand, the form of the buildings is treated as a personal matter. Therefore after studies, young architects do not know how to talk about beauty and tend to dismiss it as something unimportant. Our workshop set out to change this.
However, apart from the theoretical part, we had to take care of many practical things. As a non-profit organization, we had to collect the necessary money. For seven months, my job was to contact potential sponsors. I was also involved in creating videos promoting our workshops. When the event started, I was to look after Karol Szparkowski’s group and organize transport and materials.
